Right Tail is research infrastructure for institutional investors in Indian equities.

The name is the point. Returns come from the small number of positions in the right tail of the distribution — the ones you understood better than the market did, and held. Everything we build is aimed at making sure the thing that would have told you about one of them doesn't go unread.

We chose to gather the raw material ourselves rather than take it second-hand, because that was the hard part and because it's the part that compounds: every quarter the record gets longer, the comparisons get more honest, and the questions you can ask of it get better. Global platforms don't go this deep on Indian mid and small caps. Indian data providers give you numbers without the narrative. We're trying to be the thing in between that is genuinely useful on a Tuesday.

We work closely with a small number of institutional research teams and build against real coverage rather than a roadmap written in isolation.
